1. Introduction
The Durable Solutions Platform (DSP) is a joint initiative of Action Against Hunger (AAH), Danish Refugee Council (DRC), the International Rescue Committee (IRC), the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), Oxfam and Save the Children. The objective of this platform is to generate knowledge and promote dialogue and strategic programme approaches to the long term future of displacement affected people in the region, including displacement in and from Syria. The platform’s work includes knowledge generation and sharing as well as advocacy and coordination on durable solutions.
2. Background and scope of work
DSP is seeking a service provider to develop a style guide and provide copy-editing services on DSP outputs as needed. The service provider will be engaged on an ad-hoc basis and only when required by the DSP team.
The scope of work involves the following:
Proofreading DSP outputs and rewriting in track changes, for the DSP team’s review.
Correct spelling mistakes, typos and ensure appropriate grammar and syntax.
Develop a style guide for DSP, to then be applied in DSP outputs to ensure consistent style and formatting throughout outputs.
Develop a guide for types of DSP outputs, including nature of output, suggested structure, suggested page number, and main purpose.
Ensure all footnotes, sources, and references are completed and consistent
Review and edit for appropriate use of English language
3. Deliverables
The service provider will be responsible for developing a style guide for DSP and providing editorial services. Editorial services include proofreading and copyediting of DSP outputs, including research reports, briefing notes, policy briefs, training materials, briefing notes and other ad-hoc communication materials.
DSP Style Guide
Develop and finalize the DSP style guide including language formatting and citation formatting.
Develop a glossary of key durable solutions terminology frequently used by DSP.1
Develop a guide for types of DSP outputs in order to systematize the nature of publications2
1 A draft glossary already exists, the service provider is expected to review DSP outputs and the draft glossary to prepare a final glossary of durable solutions terminology.

All style guide outputs developed by the service provider will be reviewed by the DSP team and be approved by the DSP Manager before considered final.
Copyediting
Copyediting (as defined above) on DSP documents on an ad-hoc basis.
4. Estimated timeline (2022)

The agreement duration is from March to December 2022. The service provider is expected to be able to confirm within 5 working days the date by which the shared materials can be translated by. The service provider will be expected to be able to review outputs (depending on the length and density of content) within a maximum of 5-7 working days.

5. Service providers’ profile
The service provider should have the following qualifications:
University degree preferably in English, journalism, or related field
Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in editing, copyediting and proofreading
Experience in writing and/or editing for international organizations or NGOs, and/or in the humanitarian and international development context
Fluency in written and spoken English

1. A technical proposal outlining the service provider’s own understanding of the required scope of work
2. Updated CV/s of the service provider/s that clearly spells out his/her qualifications and experience
3. Proof of taxation
4. Financial proposal showing the price in USD per page of 250 words includes VAT and all charges.
