NRC – Jordan is looking to hire a consultant (Individual consultants only) to work with the NRC’s ICLA programme for the Provision of HLP Syrian Women Consultation Service; to conduct research focusing on Syrian refugee women's Housing, Land, and Property (HLP) rights in Jordan and their implications in accessing these rights in Syria. The NRC operates across 32 countries worldwide, including the Middle East region where it runs programs in Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Palestine, Syria, and Tunisia. Specifically, the consultancy aims to understand the level of awareness among Syrian refugee women in Jordan about their HLP rights in Syria, their intentions to claim these rights, and the social, cultural, and familial pressures they might encounter in doing so. The consultant is expected to provide an inception report, conduct a desk review, interviews with NRC staff, and propose qualitative research methodologies. The final report, no longer than 20 pages, will include findings from focus group discussions and key informant interviews, programmatic recommendations, and an assessment checklist to guide NRC's interventions. Additionally, the consultancy will culminate in a presentation of the findings and recommendations to the ICLA Jordan management. The research will not only focus on Jordan but will also have regional implications for NRC's programs in Iraq and Lebanon, addressing critical issues faced by Syrian refugee women seeking to claim their HLP rights amidst societal and cultural challenges.
